Yakult has been named the winners of the Corporate Category at last night’s Brand Film Award 2020 for their project ‘The Yakult Lady’.
Briefed to create a brand narrative for Yakult and portray the company's DNA in film, advertising agency Mike Teevee built on a little known brand asset from Japan to create the ‘Yakult Lady’ short film. Today there are about 80,000 ladies around the world who deliver Yakult products to their customers and the film explores the relationship of Yukie, a Yakult lady and her elderly client, Shirogashi; while highlighting the important social role these women play in the lives of the people they visit.
Yakult beat the likes of Eurostar, Hikma, and Novo Nordisk for the prestigious award. It received high praise from the panel of judges who described the film as – "Beautiful, charming, and an utterly cinematic story that cleverly conveys the history, culture and integrity of the brand. Bravo to Yakult for giving this storyteller space to create a film that is a complete joy to watch – outstanding!"
This award is a great addition to the two previous Cannes Dolphin trophies awarded to the campaign at the 10th Cannes Corporate and TV Awards in September. You can see the work for yourself here: ‘The Yakult Lady’
