Samsung's latest ad mercilessly attacks many of the Apple iPhone's innovations over the past ten years. Even the iPhone X's infamous notch!
The ad features a young man who been on board with the iPhone since he first passed by the block-spanning lines for the original model back in 2007. He was so excited when he opened the box that he had to immediately call his friends and tell them to "Guess what I just got." However, over the years, his devices' shortcomings frequently made themselves apparent to him, from their inability to take a picture with full storage to the tiny screen (especially in comparison to a Samsung Galaxy). While he's forced to put his devices on rice after they get wet and use dongles for his headphones, he looks on in envy as his girlfriend enjoys her Galaxy's NFC capability and wireless charging. Finally, by 2017, he's had enough, relegating his old iPhone to the drawer and using the Live Message on his newly unboxed Galaxy to brag to his friends (just as he did a decade earlier). As he passes by the now-diminished queue for the iPhone X, he makes eye contact with an Apple devotee and walks away from his old obsession.
Love the song in this ad? Get Moving On by Chyvonne Scott on Apple Music (yes, it's kinda ironic we know :P).
