A brand new season of NFL football got underway this past weekend, and along with it came Carrie Underwood's new-and-improved Sunday Night Football theme song.
Set to the tune of "Somethin' Bad" – Underwood and Miranda Lambert's platinum-certified Number One hit – the updated song takes the place of the long-running "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," which itself was based on Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You."
The retooled "Oh, Sunday Night" follows the lead of its predecessor, replacing the original lyrics about a ditched wedding and a booze-fueled spending spree with lines celebrating "America's game" and the "winner take all contest" to come.
In the video, Underwood wears a sparkling black cocktail dress with long sleeves and strappy heels, and works her way from outside a massive, computer-generated football stadium down on to the field, mugging for cameras with superstar players like Russell Wilson, Eli Manning, Antonio Brown, Clay Matthews and Von Miller along the way. via: Rolling Stone
This is Underwood's fourth season singing the opening number of the NFL's primetime Sunday games, a gig she took over from Faith Hill in 2013.
